A professional archer can’t always hit the 10 points without daily practice. It means focus can be improved through training.

For those of you who have a focus which is still like a roller coaster, let’s dive into these tips to improve your focus daily.

Less dopamine (especially in the morning), more focus

It starts from your early morning. Wake up. Don’t check your phone. Eat a small portion of protein for breakfast, avoid coffee, no vibe song, do things slowly. Phone, eating too full, coffee, song and rush will end you up with a dopamine spike. Don’t kill your focus with that.

Your morning is an essential time as you are just fasting from food or any dopamine trigger. So, it’s best when you do not start the day with dopamine as it will crave you for the rest of the day. When your dopamine spikes, it will be impossible to perform at your best.

3-minutes conscious breathing

Have you ever really paid attention to the air that goes in and goes out from and to your body? Feel it will be a game-changer.

Countdown for around 3 minutes while closing your eyes. Centered your mind to your head. Feel your breath. Sense the oxygen brought by your blood to the whole body. Listen to your heart beat. Do this in a quiet place for best results.

Conscious breathing will lead you not only to your awareness to the present moment but also increase your state of mind.

Do this regularly as your practice to increase focus.

Write sh*ts down

Don’t pile sh*t up in your head. Spit it out and write it down. It clears some space in your brain and relieves you.

Choose what workout you like for 15 minutes. Even just a simple walk outdoors. It can also be running, body-weight training, gym, etc.

Consistent physical activity not only helps burn calories but also boosts your energy level throughout the day. Exercise stimulates your endorphin production, enhances mood and reduces stress. This keeps you energized and mentally focused.

Social media-free

Social media is created to engage you and spend more time with it. It gives you a dopamine spike with a never ending scroll mode. It won’t lead you to enough information.

What the social media app owners care about is only how long users use their app. They want to keep you for long hours on their platform. It takes not only your time, but also your focus or your productivity. You ended up doing nothing.

Dare to open your social media platform for couple contents and without realizing you’ll easily lose a couple hours from your life.

If you still want to have your account active, there’s no problem with that. But first, turn off the notification badge, don’t show it on your home screen, limit your social media screen time, or anything else you can do so you can spend less hours on social media.

Better less substances

No need to be a doctor just to know how bad substances like sugar and alcohol can affect your health. Sugar spikes the blood sugar level, serious health risk and even mood swings. While alcohol can disrupt sleep patterns and harm your cognitive function. It will be harder for you to have a strong focus.

Reducing your sugar intake could keep your energy stable, better mood and increase focus. Cutting down alcohol could improve your sleep quality, make you emotionally healthier and you can think more clearly. Your metabolism works better, your brain becomes sharper, and daily focus improves.

Make your limit for sugar and alcohol for the long term. As you reduce these two substances, you can easily adjust your body and mind. Means reaching your highest focus will be easier.

Choose what you eat

Don’t take sugar or alcohol for comfort, instead find whole foods as an alternative. Fresh fruits and veggies are the best option to fill your sugar intake needs. Stay hydrated with enough water. This small food choice seems trivial but it can have a huge impact on your focus overtime.

If you are a sweet food lover, no need to change it overnight as it can lead you to a huge sugar craving. Start by making small adjustments day by day and see how your body responds. As you reduce these two substances, you’ll likely feel better everyday.
