Have you ever feeling stuck, like your energy drained, and no matter how hard you try, you have no idea coming. Well, what if actually a key to your creativity is not coming from what you do but what you eat?
Talking about food we consume and our creativity seems have along relation but where else its come from if its not from food? Food is an essential part that can’t left behind. Sometimes we determine to be three meals a day, with exact time, exact meal plan and even include all substance that our body needed such as carb, protein, vitamin, fiber, etc. This is not only about improving our focus or memory but actually a fuel to brain so we can think out of the box and trigger new ideas.
So, what food that we should eat to improve our brain function and creativity? How you could integrate it to your daily routine?
Right nutrition impacted creativity
You brain is like a machine. It needs fuel. And the incredible thing is that your brain works depend on what fuels (foods) comes in. If you aiming for creativity, then your brain need right nutrition to function well.
Creativity involving a complex process at the brain, like making a new neuro connection and think abstract. This process is depend on chemical substance that brain has, or neurotransmitter like dopamine and serotonin. If you feed your brain with the right nutrition, then it will also influenced your creativity. So, never underestimated what’s come to your body.
You might make mistakes in the past and careless about what you eat, or also back to your bad eating habit, but that’s no problem because its always free to try and restart again.
Nutrition that gives energy for creativity
What is the best food for creativity?
First thing first, antioxidant. You can find antioxidant in food such as blueberry, mulberry, kale, and dark chocolate. It helps protecting brain from cells damaging and lowering inflammation risk which is important to increase memory, improve focus and improve creativity by promoting brain’s health overall.
Second, omega-3 fats. This fat is healthy and you can find it in Salmon, walnut, flaxseeds. Those are known as brain boosters. They improves communication between cells and help new neuron growth, which is the main key in creativity. Plus, omega-3 also helps you with a better feeling and higher cognitive flexibility. By that, you will be able to generate new innovative ideas.
Other than that, you will also need folic or vitamin B9. You can find it in greens like spinach and broccoli. Folic is also very important in brain development and keep the neural healthy. Folic also helps to improve your mental clarity, helps you stay sharp and focus on your creative projects.
Bad fuels (foods) you should avoid
As we already know what’s food is good for creativity, we have the enemy to fight. Its non other than processed food, sugar, saturated fat, and artificial ingredients. These substance contained foods are working in reverse, destroying your brain function overtime. These typical food is increasing inflammation and stress to brain. For sure, say bye to creativity.
Too much sugar consumption also drained your energy level, causing mental illness, and influenced your daily mood.
Even there’s nothing wrong with consuming it for pleasure once, but choose for the healthy food consistently is the key to stay creative.
Why you need to be creative?
People pay more for creative works than just get things done. Creativity is more important than ever.
Every people now could be so much productive than ever, thanks to AI. AI can handle your repetitive jobs, generate your articles in seconds and analyze your data. It makes basic productivity is more accessible to everyone in this world.
However, AI can’t replicate the creativity which uniquely human at high level. AI thinking inside the box, it has border while human creativity involves thinking outside the box, solving problems in innovative ways with fresh perspectives.
When productivity is increasing, then creativity is becoming a new star. So, that’s why being creative is more high value than being productive.
Long-term habit also matter
Even food is the most important thing, but building a long-term habit for our brain health is also important. Stay hydrate, manage stress, workout routine are contribute to an even better brain to improve creativity. Walk slowly outside for 15 minutes is better than 15 minutes scrolling on your social media.
You won’t feel the change overnight, but day by day, you will no longer feeling drained or burned out. You will find that your creativity become sharper, you can focus longer, and feel more energetic and inspired.
